Dr. M. Duff, MD, CCFP, FCFP

Family Physician

Dr. M. Duff has been a family physician for over 15 years, graduating from McMaster medical school in 2005 and University of British Columbia Family Medicine residency in 2007. She has worked as a family physician in emergency, military, hospitalist, rural, urban, walk-in clinic, and community longitudinal medicine. In 2021, she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Victoria Divisions of Family Practice and became the Primary Care Network (PCN) Physician Lead for the James Bay/Fairfield/Fernwood/Oaklands neighbourhood. In 2022, she joined the Board of Directors of BC Family Doctors. Dr. Duff is currently developing two new clinics in Victoria: a High Complex Care Team (HCCT) and a Child and Youth anxiety treatment program. The HCCT is a team-based care clinic serving some of our most vulnerable community members, and is modelled after Dr. Cleave’s HCCT at Eagle Creek. The anxiety Program is a team-based clinic aimed to support kids (and their families) with anxiety.

Appointments

Patients will be offered an in-person visit based on the mutual agreement of the patient and the physician, although telephone appointments are still being offered.

Prior to booking an in-person appointment, patients must provide our office with their vaccination status. Special protocols will be in place for patients who are not fully vaccinated. All patients are asked to complete the questionnaire by clicking here prior to attending their in-person appointment:

Dr. Duff and her associates do not fax prescriptions without reviewing the medications with you first, so please book an appoint for all refills. Please book your appointment using our online booking system. If something urgent comes up, call the clinic to identify your urgent need and you will be booked in an urgent appointment spot.

Test results

We will call you regarding all test results, no matter the result, unless you have arranged otherwise with Dr. Duff or her associate(s) directly. To ensure your test result is properly reviewed, it is best to book a follow up appointment to discuss the result with the ordering doctor after the test is completed. If you have not heard from us regarding your result, please call the office to notify us

Forms & Fees

There is a $50 fee for missed appointments. As MSP does not pay physicians to complete forms including sick notes, payment for such forms will be the responsibility of the patient. The exact cost of forms is based on the Doctors of BC Recommended Fee Schedule.

Teaching

Dr. Duff provides teaching and supervision for medical students through the Island Medical Program. We are grateful to patients who participate in this important part of medical education.
